Nikki Javadi is a queer Iranian music supervisor, consultant, essayist and writer hailing from the infamous San Fernando Valley. While betraying the sun for four years in Seattle, she got her start as a college radio DJ at the University of Washington (Rainy Dawg Radio). At UW, she produced live shows for the station and booked artists like Kero Kero Bonito, Injury Reserve, Noname, Open Mike Eagle, and Jessy Lanza. While working odd film production jobs in LA, Nikki continued to obsess over and write about music… eventually establishing her own music blog, I Do Magiic. Over the last few years, Nikki has had the opportunity to music supervise and consult on a handful of indie projects, allowing her to launch her music supervision business under the same banner as her blog. Nikki’s favorite part of her job is the opportunity to uplift queer artists through her work.  After taking a UCLA extension class on Music Supervision with Ryan Svendsen, Nikki was inspired to take it further and pursue an MFA program. Good news arrived recently and this fall she will attend USC as a graduate student in the Music Industry program with a concentration in Music Supervision. Tragically, Nikki is still waiting for Frank Ocean to release new music.
